This is Christina Remponi, one our newest mums in BBB. 29, 3 children, has chosen to ligate after this birth.

Its is such a relief for some of these woman to be able to stop having babies. There is so much tradition and wrong info amongst the poor. A man here would often think “no more babies means no more intimacy…so he will always say NO”. But the truth is, a ligation often enriches the whole relationship, because neither party has to worry about the unplanned pregnancy, which at times is such an incredible burden for everyone in the family.

This program blesses the whole family.

Hi my name is Cathy, I am the coordinator of Birthing Better Babies(BBB) working in conjunction with John 14:12 World Wide Ministries in Baseco Manila an urban slum.

I am a Teacher and Childbirth Educator who had the privilege of working with women in an urban slum in Manila Philippines for four months with Jn 14:12 World Wide Ministries.

I was so impacted by the women's situations I literally gave birth to BBBabies. Pregnancy sponsorship is vital key to healthier safer pregnancies and births in Developing Nations. We are changing this situation and saving lives ONE BIRTH AT A TIME.....

I am also a mother to 6 kids and wife to James....we travel, we Homeschool and we have been Pastors and servants of God for so long now I have lost count! Join us as we Change The World!

JOHN 14:12 WWM

I have known Mark and Chris Pedder who head the Jn14:12 World Wide Ministries for over 10 years now and becoming part of their vision seemed only natural to us....so in Sept 2009 we packed the Troups up (yes all 8 of us) and headed for Baseco Manila in the Philippines. Baseco is an urban slum, thousands of squatters live in this small area of land which used to be a mangrovey swamp, now filled with rubbish (literally) these resilient sqatters live there, many have no running water, no electricity and many no money for even basics like food or clothing.

Jn14:12 work in this depressed area with local Pastors who live in Baseco providing Family and Student sponsorship, Pedicab programmes which ensured a fair income and of course a Church and Youth Leadership programmes.

When we lived there we saw first hand the results of lack of education, contaminated food, water and the ravages of poverty. It changed our lives. I immediately began Childbirth classes which included healthy food, water, hygiene and basic human anatomy.

My classes were a drop in the ocean, as many women and children around me died of the results of failed/unsupervised births and pregnancies, and childhood diseases that were sometimes avoidable. Something had to be done, sponsorship was the answer, women simply needed the money to support their pregnancy and births...........so in conjunction with Mark and local pastors we began the sponsorship programme.
